At the AGM Sister Marie Therese handed over responsibility to a new Secretary and Treasurer, Dr Mary Mills, a member of the Society of the Holy Child. Mary Mills has had an extensive teaching ministry, both at secondary and HE levels. Her research area is the Old Testament, and she has published a number of books in the field of biblical studies, both at popular and research levels. Her current work is on pain and suffering themes in the Major Prophets, and at present she is an Adjunct Professor of Biblical Studies at Liverpool Hope University.

Dr Nicholas KingOther committee members remain as before, with Ian Boxall continuing as Vice-Chair, and Dr Martin O'Kane as Editor of the Scripture Bulletin. However, Dr Jeremy Corley handed over the Chair of the association to Dr Nicholas King (pictured left). Nicholas King SJ is now teaching New Testament at the University of Oxford after many years of teaching in South Africa. He recently published a fresh translation of the New Testament, and is working (but very slowly) on a translation of the LXX (Greek Old Testament). He is very interested in the Synoptic Gospels, but can easily be persuaded to speak of almost any part of the New Testament. In particular he is interested in how what biblical scholars do can be married to the needs and desires of ordinary bible readers, and how academic exegetes can operate within and for the believing community. He is also passionate about cricket and squash, when he is not reading the biblical text.
